1st Scheduled Vacation Day of 2012!!!

Well, I can dream can't I???
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up so you are aware of this as soon as possible.  Three weeks from today: Friday, February 17th, day care will be closed due to my first scheduled vacation day of 2012.  I wanted to be sure that everyone knew about it now so you can plan accordingly.

I'm hoping to get the majority of my vacation days for the rest of the year worked out in the next week or so.  I will be sure that everyone gets a copy of those dates once it's completed.

Thank you!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

The Start of 2012!!!

Here we are with the first pictures and happenings of what everyone has been up to with the start of the new year!
Just a quick note:  The year-end tax statements will be completed this week.  I will need your signature and you will be able to take your copy immediately after that.  Thank you!!!  Now, back to the blog...

The first week of the year was a busy one around here.  Parker was home with her parents this first week and it just wasn't the same around here without her!  We had plenty of visits from other children though due to a long winter break off from school for several of the older children.

Tuesday, January 3rd, we had Alex, Luke and Drew here and Baylee and Livy here for part of the day too.  We spent most of the morning playing down in the basement in the playroom.
Luke, Andrew and Alex building with Lego's.
Livy loves her sister Baylee!
The playhouse was very popular that morning!
Aren't they cute???!!!

Later that afternoon, the weather was perfect for the boys to get in a game of hockey in the driveway!  Oh what fun!

Wednesday, January 4th was a little quieter with just Maggie and Alex here.  Maggie is getting so good at pulling herself up now onto furniture (or anything else she can find).  She is getting more brave about letting go once she's actually up now too.
I love her adorable smile!
Getting brave and starting to let go...
This is Maggie's favorite spot when she's in the living room.
Checking out the snowman's nose!
Thursday, January 5th was a fun day for Alex because he had two great friends to play with.  Both Rocco and Jackson were here for the day and oh what fun they had together!  Rocco arrived in the morning all dressed up in his pirate garb.  Alex decided to join in on the fun and dress up too.

Aaarrrggg!!!

Later, since the weather had been so mild, we got to spend some time playing outside and we even dug out a few of the bikes to ride on.
Outdoor fun!
I asked the boys to show me their grumpy faces and this is what I got...
Alex's grumpy face.
Rocco's grumpy face.
Jackson's grumpy face (I love it!).
Later that afternoon the boys wanted to watch the movie Cars but I wasn't able to find my copy.  So, we decided to watch Bug's Life.
Movie time.

Friday, January 6th was a quiet way to end the week with just Maggie and Alex here for the day.  I took just two pictures that day.  They were both of cute 'lil Maggie.
A happy girl.
Tuesday, January 10th, Alex and Parker were here for the day and Maggie got a bonus day here too!  Maggie loves being in the walker.  She scoots all over the place (in all directions) now and boy is she fast!!!  Alex enjoyed coloring during quiet time on this day.
Alex loves Scooby Doo!

Friday, January 13th, it was Alex and Maggie and Parker together again.  I love to watch how Parker and Maggie interact with each other.  It's so cute to see.  They sure have fun together!

My camera was too slow to catch Parker with her arm around Maggie.  It was so cute!
Just after Parker had her arm around Maggie.
There's no stopping that Maggie now.  She is crawling all over the place now with no problems at all.
There she goes and there's that tongue sticking out again!
Well, that wraps up the first two weeks of the month (and year).  Check back soon for another update!  I've got lots more great pictures to share!  Feel free to leave a comment below.  It's nice to know if anyone is actually checking out the blog and what they think about it!  Bye for now.

Happy New Year!

Here we are, the final blog update for the 2011 year. I know that it is officially 2012 but this update will wrap-up the final days of 2011. What a year it's been! A very special thank you to all of you--my day care families. I love my job and I wouldn't be able to do it without you (and your wonderful children, of course!) Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to care for your children and to be a part of you and your families lives. You hold a special place in my heart and I am grateful for having all of you in my life! Thank you! Now, on to the final blog for 2011...

The last days of November and the first days of December shared the same week.  On Tuesday, November 29th, Alex and Parker were here.  Here are two video clips taken that day.  The first one is Parker telling the names of her pet dogs at home.  My nephew and I couldn't help but laugh!  It's so cute!

The second video is of Alex and Parker together.  Parker was having fun copying everything Alex was doing.  Monkey see, monkey do!  Very cute!

Wednesday, November 30th, Maggie and Jackson were here for the day, Livy was here for the morning and Alex for the afternoon.

Jackson and Alex enjoyed coloring their pictures.
I received a package that day (something I ordered for the children to play with during the Christmas season) and was excited to see what the boys would think of it.  It is a children's Christmas tree that they can put together and decorate (and re-decorate) themselves.  The two boys really enjoyed playing with it!
The children's tree was a big success!
The month of December began on a Thursday.  Alex, Jackson and Parker were here for the day.  Later that afternoon, my two nieces got to come over for awhile too!
You can't tell from this picture, but they're dancing!
Enjoying the sparkly, glitter tree.

Later, Norah and Aleena got to play with the special Disney Princess castle that I bought for very special playtimes for the day care children.  They loved it!

Later that afternoon, I remembered to bring the camera with me when Alex and Parker enjoyed their outdoor time and snap a couple of pictures.

Wednrsday, December 21st, Alex and Maggie were here for the day.  Alex worked on an arts and crafts project that afternoon during quiet time.  He made a snowman door hanger.  I think it turned out very cute!

Thursday, December 22nd, was a busy but fun day with Alex, Maggie and Parker all here for the day with a visit from Baylee and Livy.  It was the last day everyone would be here before Christmas (day care was closed on Dec. 23rd) so the children were really excited!

Finally,on Friday, December 30th, it was a quiet day with just Shelby and Alex here.  They had fun playing with Andrew for most of the morning.  In the afternoon I took them up to McDonald's to play in the indoor playground there.  They loved it, of course!  It was a very good way to finish off the year.  Unfortunately, I did not bring the camera to take pictures.  Oh well!

That's the end of the pictures for the year of 2011.  Thanks for checking out the blog to see what we've been up to all year!  See you soon!
