Welcome Jackson!

Last week was a busy one for all of us!  We had visits from Kiera, Rocco, Shelby, Drew and Luke.  On Tuesday we had most of the Wall grandchildren here for the day!  We were only missing Caden (who was at school)!

It's not easy getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time and smile!
The girls really seemed to have fun playing together.  How cute, their outfit colors even matched that day!

Best friends!
One of the best parts of the week though was when we happily welcomed Jackson to our day care family!!!  Jackson is two years old and is a friend of Drew & Luke.  He already fits in wonderfully here.  Jackson is a big Toy Story fan and can name almost all of the characters!  He had a lot of fun playing with the Toy Story figures down in the playroom.

Jackson gives hugs to Buzz and Woody!

Jackson and Alex show off their smiles.
Say cheese!

Eating lunch
Finally, on Thursday, Alex celebrated his 4th birthday!  He is getting to be quiet a young man now!  I'm so proud of him!  We celebrated with specially decorated sugar cookies in the shape of Fall leaves.  They were a big hit!

Of course Alex enjoyed his piece of birthday cake also!  Happy Birthday Alex!

The birthday boy!

I was so happy to have Shelby back for an afternoon.
What a beautiful princess!

Finally, an update!!!

Alright, I know, I'm behind on updating the blog again.  Sorry!  It seems like the weekends that I'm out-of-town are the weeks that the blog updates are delayed.  The end of summer means the end of camping season so, I should be able to keep the blog updated more frequently from now on.

Here is what has been happening around here for the last two weeks...

The Fall season is just about here.  It's my favorite time of the year.  I've slowly started pulling out some of the Fall decorations for around the house.  I love the warm days and cool nights, the beautiful Fall sights (leaves changing colors), sounds (football games) and smells (casseroles and harvest desserts from the oven)!  As the days get cooler, please make sure you have a jacket packed in your childs bag for when we play outside.

We had a surprise visit from Mamah, Norah and Aleena.  The girls had fun playing with Drew and Luke who were over that day also.  They had lots of fun playing downstairs together.

Everyone played so nicely!
The girls absolutely LOVED Parker too!  Norah was in heaven when she got to hold Parker on the couch.
Norah proudly holds Parker.

Parker loves Mamah and Mamah loves Parker!
Drew and Luke were back to see us last Wednesday also.  It's so nice having them here.  Rocco was here for a little while also but left early due to not feeling well a little later.  Alex was here for the afternoon (now that he goes to preschool on Wednesday mornings).
Luke, Drew and Rocco have fun with the Toy Story toys.

Rocco shows off his fish.
The cutest thing happened on Wednesday afternoon. As I was reading our book of the week to the boys, Parker (who was playing contently in the background) suddenly became very interested in what the rest of us were doing. She started to "squirm" her way towards the boys and listen to the story right along with them!

Here she comes...
She finally made it up to them and I sat her right with the boys.  She was happy as can be sitting there with them, listening to the story too!  It was so cute!!!
...and here she is!
I had to include these two pictures of her also.  I love her big blue eyes!
Look at those huge blue eyes and those LONG lashes!
Parker loves her puffs!
Finally, I had the pleasure of taking care of just Kiera last Friday.  It was so much fun spoiling her by having her all to myself for the day.  She is walking all over the place now!  She loved the playhouse.  I love the curls in the back of her head!

Such a big girl!
Love that smile!!!
This week will be a busy one.  Kiera will be back for another day with us.  Alex will celebrate his 4th birthday this Thursday.  We will also warmly welcome Jackson who will be joining us for the first time this Thursday.  Drew and Luke will also be back on Friday.  Looking forward to lots of fun with the children in the next few days!  Stay tuned for (hopefully more frequent) updates!

Go Vikings!!!

"Who Dat" wearing those Viking horns???
Go Vikings!
I know, I know.  What do the Vikings have to do with your children and day care?  Well, to tell you the truth, nothing.  I just thought it would be fun to have a Vikings season opener game pep rally with the children (sorry Tonya-no Saints fans here today).  As you can see, even Parker got in on the fun.  She LOVED the football (mainly because it was nice and soft for her to chew on).

Parker is a Vikings fan too!

Is there a penalty for excessive "gumming" of the football?

Alex, Luke and Drew can't wait for tonight's game!
We had a surprise visit from Kiera today (and Laura and Chris too).  They were all dressed in their Vikings apparel for tonight's game.  Now I wish I would have taken their picture too!  Kiera is walking all over the place now! It's so darn cute!  I really miss having her here and am keeping my fingers crossed that she will be back again soon.

I enjoyed most of my vacation / time off.  Going up North was relaxing and peaceful.  Once we returned home it was non-stop running with Andrew's middle school orientation, last minute school supply shopping and such.  Countless forms and paperwork to fill out and lists of things to complete!  Will it ever end?

It sure has been a quiet week compared to most previous weeks this last summer.  I had no children here on Tuesday which was really kind of strange.  Roy was at work and I saw Andrew off to his first day of middle school.  I came back to a VERY quiet house.  I'm missing all my school-aged children now that they aren't here and I'm missing Rocco very much too!  Each of "my" children have a very special place in my heart and I love them all!

Well, that's it for now.  Go Vikings!!!
