Summer Update Part 3-August!

Finally!!!  Here are all of the pictures from August--warning, it's a long post with lots of pictures!

With the weather being so much cooler these days, here are pictures from the month of August that should help to warm your heart (if nothing else) of all the amazing, wonderful children I am so happy to be able to take care of!  Enjoy!
The month of August started off quietly and ended the same way.  The middle of the month found us the busiest of all with visits from just about everyone right before a lot of them headed back to school!

Tuesday, August 2nd was a quiet day with just Parker here with me for the day.  She is so silly some days and we have fun laughing with each other.  She loves to dance around the room and then fall down and say, "Oh oh!".

Wednesday, August 3rd, we had visits from Maggie, Shelby and Alex and Jackson.  In the morning, before Jackson came over, we went down to the park to play for a bit.

Thursday, August 4th, we had Shelby, Alex and Parker here.  It was a warm afternoon and that made it the perfect day to try out the Slip-n-slide.  So, while Parker took her nap, the older kids changed into their swimsuits and had a blast!

Friday, August 5th, we had visits from Shelby, Alex and Maggie.  It was a big day for Maggie since she sat in the baby walker for the first time and she seemed to like it!

Shelby and Alex enjoyed an arts and crafts project during quiet time.  They were both very proud of their finished products!

Tuesday, August 9th, we had Parker and Maggie here for the day.  We were so happy to have Luke here with us for a few hours that afternoon too!

It is so cute to see how much Parker loves Maggie and wants to be near her and involved with her whenever possible.  It's also cute to see how Maggie is interacting with Parker more and more every day!

Wednesday, August 10th, Shelby and Alex and Maggie were all here.  Shelby had fun dressing up in the morning.  It was a beautiful day so we decided to enjoy it by having a picnic lunch outside.

Thursday, August 11th, we were so happy to have Rocco over for the day!  Alex was thrilled to be able to play with his buddy once again!  They played downstairs for awhile in the morning and then spent most of the afternoon outside enjoying the wonderful weather!

Friday, August 12th, was a busy day.  We had Shelby and Alex, Parker, and Madi here for the day.  Maggie was here for just a couple of hours in the morning.  We also had Drew and Luke here for part of the day.  The weather forecast was for rain all day but it seemed to be holding off for some of the morning so the children played outside for most of the morning.

Soon the mosquitoes were out in full force so the children were forced to play indoors.  The girls had fun playing dress-up.

Not long after this picture was taken, Parker came and then Drew and Luke arrived too.  That's when things got busy around here!  Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to take any other pictures of the rest of the children that were here that day (sorry!).

Tuesday, August 16th brought us Maggie, Caden and Parker for the day.  Caden's favorite part of the day was playing the Wii with Andrew that afternoon.

Wednesday, August 17th, Maggie, Shelby and Alex were here for the day and then Drew and Luke came over for the afternoon.  Shelby loves to dress up and decided to try the pirate costume that day.

We spent the afternoon playing outside.  The children had fun playing on the cars and bikes.

 Then Andrew was excited to show the children his new shoulder pads and football jersey.  They all pretended they were at a football game watching Andrew (the football star).  They were cheering him on from the sidelines.  It was so cute to watch them all pretend together.

Thursday, August 18th, Shelby and Alex, Maggie and Parker were all here for the day.  The children were busy most of the morning playing with the Lincoln logs.  They all built their own cabins/forts.  Unfortunately, I can't remember which one each built.  Here they are anyway.

Friday, August 19th, we had Shelby and Alex, Maggie and MadiMadi, Shelby and Alex all dressed up and Andrew was the announcer.  It was so cute and they were so proud of themselves!

Tuesday and Wednesday, August 23rd and 24th we had Shelby and Alex and Maggie here for both days.  Maggie's favorite new toy to play with was the stuffed caterpillar.  She loved to hold it and squeeze it (and chew on it too!).

 Thursday, August 25th was a fun-filled day.  Shelby and Alex, Parker and Madi were here for the day and Jackson came for about half of the day.  The children played indoors during the morning and the older children played in the sprinkler during the afternoon.  Everyone had a great day!

Tuesday, August 30th was a quiet day with just Parker here with me.  She loved spending time outside.  She was adorable as she smelled the flowers!

Finally, Wednesday, August 31st--the last day of the month--Maggie was here as well as my (great) niece Naomie.  She did very well here considering it was her first day of day care!

Shelby got to come over for a couple of hours.  She was so excited to be able to show me her new haircut.  It's so cute on her and I think it makes her look even more grown-up!
