Summer Update! (pt.1)

Here we are at the end of July already.  It's been quite the month for our family.  We enjoyed our week-long vacation starting on the big Fourth of July holiday weekend.  When we returned home from that, we immediately began dealing with Roy's father's declining health and seemingly sudden death.  We were both shocked and saddened by how quickly we lost him!  A special thank you to those families who kept us in your thoughts and prayers during our very difficult time.  We really appreciated all of your kind words and hugs (and cards)!  Thanks for being there for us and being so understanding!

Now, on the the pictures!  Here are a few from the last week in June (that I promised in the last update):
We need to go all the way back to June 28th when we had Caden, Parker and Maggie here for the day.  My nephew David and niece Rachael were also here with us for most of that week.
Whenever Caden and Andrew are together, there will be Star Wars!
Lightsabers in action!

Maggie loved watching Parker play with her doll.
Parker covers her baby doll with the blanket.
June 29th was another beautiful day.  It was the perfect day to pull out the bounce house for Shelby, Alex and Rocco to play on!

Thursday, June 30th we had Shelby, Alex, Maggie and Jackson here for the day.

Later that afternoon, Shelby, Alex and Andrew made flag decorations for arts and crafts to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.  I think they turned out great!

July started off with my week-long vacation.  The weather was perfect and it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake.  My favorite part was being able to sleep in every morning and be able to take a quick nap in the afternoon if I felt like it!  It was wonderful!

I will be posting all of the July pictures very soon.  Thanks for being so understanding!  Bye for now!

June's Summer Fun!

Here we are in the middle of summer and oh what fun we've been having!  Our days have been busy with lots of play time, both indoors and out!  The temps have been up and down lately.  We haven't really had normal temps.  They have either been above or below normal--with mostly below normal temps.  We've had our fair share of rain lately too!  Currently we are experiencing some record high temps!  The children, thankfully, have been great with adapting to the weather changes though.  Hopefully July will bring some warmer (but not too warm), sunnier weather for all of us to enjoy.

As I mentioned in the last blog update, Maggie has now joined our day care family.  She is a very good baby and it's been fun to see how much she has grown, learned and changed already during this first month she has been with us.  It's been awhile since we've had an infant here and the children laugh when they hear the squeaks and grunts that all new little babies like Maggie make when they move and stretch!

There are lots of pictures to share with you.  This is probably my longest blog yet and includes almost the entire month of June.  I am saving the last week of June to post in the next blog since there are so many pictures to cover in this post.  So, here are the pictures of June's Summer fun!  Enjoy!

On Thursday, June 2nd, Baylee and Livy spent a half day over here.   They played outside most of the morning and loved playing with the sand table.  Parker came later that day and she did get to spend a little time with best friend Livy.

Baylee shows us her full cup of sand.
Trying out the sand wheel.
Aren't they adorable?
We then went back inside to wait for Parker to arrive.  The girls enjoyed dancing to the music in the living room while we waited!

Knock knock.  Who's there?
Hi Baylee!
Tuesday, June 7th, was Maggie's first day here.  She did well (she slept a lot that first day)!  Parker was VERY interested in Maggie and a tiny bit jealous when she would see me holding Maggie and not her. I made sure I gave Parker some extra attention during a couple of Maggie's nap times.
Baby Maggie's first day!
Hanging out with Parker.
On Wednesday, June 8th, Maggie was the only one here (since Alex and Shelby were still on vacation).  It was nice to have the whole day to spend with just Maggie.  She is such a cutie!  So tiny too!
Maggie liked the baby swing.
Tummy time!
Thursday, June 9th, was a busy day with our morning being the busiest!  Maggie, Parker and Jackson were all here for the day.  Drew and Luke came for a quick couple of hours in the morning.  Unfortunately, the only pictures taken that day were a couple taken of Maggie (taken during quiet time).  Sorry!

Big yawn!
Friday, June 10th we had Maggie (just for part of the morning), Madi, Caden and Parker here for the day.  We enjoyed the afternoon outside.
Caden and Madi check out the toys on the train table.
Parker watches from the kitchen.
Andrew and Caden played Star Wars outside.
Parker takes a drive in the cozy coupe.
Tuesday, June 14th it was just Maggie and Parker here for the day.  Parker just loves little Maggie.
Can you tell?
Parker loves Maggie.
A quick smile for the camera.
Wednesday and Thursday, June 15th and 16th, we had Maggie and Parker here.  Shelby and Alex were back from their vacation.  Jackson was here to play with us on Thursday.  There were a few new toys and accessories for the children to play with.  Shelby was the most excited to find a beautiful new dress to wear in the new dress-up station.
Shelby loved wearing the new dress!
Jackson was here for the day on Thursday.  The weather was warmer that afternoon so we got to spend some time outside.  Even Maggie got to enjoy the beautiful day (from her bouncy seat).

Outdoor fun!

A happy baby!
On Friday we had Maggie and Madi here for the day.  Maggie liked laying in the pop-up baby gym and looking at the hanging toys.
Such concentration!
So cute...
On Tuesday, June 21st, Caden and Parker came for the day.
Caden and Parker. Aren't they just too cute for words???
Since Maggie wasn't here, Baylee and Livy were able to come over for part of the day.  Parker and Livy enjoyed their play date together.  It was too wet from the recent rain to play outside so the children played downstairs.
Lego's were the popular toy of the day.

Livy got a sticker too
(for sitting on the potty chair and trying)!
Wednesday, June 22nd, Shelby, Alex, Maggie and Parker were all here for the day.  It was another wet, rainy day which meant we played downstairs once again.
Parker is very busy playing.
"Princess" Shelby comes over to play with Parker.
Smile!!!
Cute baby alert!!!!!

It never ceases to amaze me how much an infant changes and learns in their first year of life.  I've noticed changes in Maggie already in the short time she's been here.  She is smiling so much more now and it's so cute!
Big smiles from Maggie.
Alex was busy creating cool toys with Lego's.
Cool Alex!
Parker loves reading books.  She reads them pretty much every day she is here.  She really loves it when someone reads with her.
Parker sits with Andrew and reads her book.
Maggie's still awake and happy!
A little later, Andrew and Alex worked together to make a special house out of Lego's.  They were pretty proud of their finished product and wanted me to take their picture with it.

This Lego house has a LOT of stairs!

Thursday, June 23rd we had the same children here as the day before.  Another rainy day meant another day of indoor play!
A precious baby girl!

We watched cartoons in the family room while waiting for the parents to come pick up the children.

for her mom to pick her up.
Friday, June 24th brought Maggie and Madi for the day.  We finally had some perfect weather and decided to take a trip to the park.  Madi and Andrew had a great time.  Maggie slept through her first field trip!

Maggie naps right through her first field trip.
That's it for now.  Lots of pictures this time, huh?  I'll post the last week of June in the next blog update.  There are about 20 more pictures just from that last week alone!

I wish you all a very safe and happy Fourth of July holiday!  See you all soon!
